What we use
We use two kinds of cookie. Essential cookies make the shop work and are always on. Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics, a tracking service run by Google, and are only used if you accept them. We do not use advertising cookies.
Essential cookies
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
agoriva_session |
Keeps you signed in, and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | When you close your browser |
agoriva_cart |
Remembers what is in your basket. Holds a random reference only — no personal details are stored in the cookie itself. | 30 days |
agoriva_cookie_notice |
Remembers that you have seen the cookie message, so it is not shown again. | 1 year |
agoriva_analytics_consent |
Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every page and so your answer is respected. | 6 months |
These are set by this site, none can be read by JavaScript, and none are shared with anyone. They are strictly necessary for the shop to function, so they are set automatically and do not require your consent.
Google Analytics (tracking)
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how the shop is used: which pages and products are viewed, how visitors arrive, and where they leave. It helps us find problems and decide what to improve.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies below and records your activity on this site — the pages you view and when, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address), and your device and browser type. The cookies hold a random identifier, not your name, email address or payment details, and we do not send those to Google.
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Set by Google Analytics. A random identifier that tells one visitor's browser apart from another's. | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> |
Set by Google Analytics. Keeps track of your current visit, so that the pages you view are counted as one session. | 2 years |
The information is collected by Google on our behalf and may be processed on Google's servers outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Google's own use of it is described in Google's privacy policy and in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager, a Google service that delivers the analytics code to your browser. Tag Manager does not set cookies of its own, and it is held back by the same choice as the analytics it loads.
Nothing is sent to Google unless you accept. If you reject, or do not answer, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. It is never loaded on your account pages, on order lookup, or when you reset your password.
Your choice
You can change this whenever you like by coming back to this page. Turning analytics off stops Google Analytics loading and removes its cookies from this site. We will ask again after six months. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every website.
Payment providers
When you pay, Stripe or PayPal may set their own cookies on their checkout pages to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those are governed by their own policies.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential session cookie will prevent checkout from working.
