Description
A thread repair kit for restoring stripped, worn or damaged internal threads in metal parts. The damaged hole is drilled out and re-tapped, then a wire thread insert is fitted to give a new thread at the original size.
- Covers the five most common metric sizes: M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12
- 110 carbon steel wire thread inserts
- 5 drill bits and 5 taps in steel, heat-treated (supplier figure 50–60 HRC)
- 10 installation and tang break-off tools with rubber-coated grips
- 1 hex key
- Metal storage case
Suitable for threads in aluminium, cast iron, steel, bronze and magnesium. Drilling and tapping produce sharp swarf: wear eye protection and gloves, and follow the instructions supplied.
